The career of a teacher
Plans for the future is a problem that worries my friends and classmates, my parents and teachers and of course me. The reason is that at the age of 17 we have to make a very important choice in our life – the choice of a profession. On the one hand, I’m adult enough to have an opinion of my own about what I’m good at. On the other hand, at this age we lack life experience. That’s why it’s very important to have somebody to give us a piece of advice. Such people are, first of all, our parents and teachers.
Choosing a career is not a simple matter. So I’m sure it is better to choose a future profession while at school. Everyone should think of his future career taking into consideration his interests and abilities. It is also necessary to realize the advantages and possible disadvantages of the profession chosen. The profession can be well-paid, can give you freedom to create and be very interesting. But it can at the same time require you travelling a lot or working late.
As for me, I clearly realize that my interest is not in science. I hate making observations in a laboratory or carrying out experiments. Neihter am I suited for an engineering career as the very idea of using tools or machines makes me sick. But I enjoy enfluencing people, I like children and school. So, I have chosen the career of a teacher.
In my opinion, a teacher should be broad-minded, strong-willed, creative, patient and entelligent. But above all, every teacher should be very enthusiastic about his work and put all his heart into it. I try to do my best to aquire qualities necessary for my future profession.
As for me, my favourite subjects are Literature, English and History. I slave at my books, take part in out-of-class activities, conferences and school Olympiads. I enjoy surfing the Internet while making my reports and projects. I devote much time doing exercises, cramming new words, reading English books and magazines, listening to the songs of my favourite groups and singers. I’ve learnt a lot about customs and traditions of English speaking countries. Sometimes I watch TV programs and video-films in English. I’m quite responsible for myself and always accurate in what I say or do.
My school helps me greatly in forming my character and teaches me how to deal with other people. This aspect is very important in my future profession.
I hope I’ll never regret my decision to follow this career.

As for me, I would like to be a rescue man. To tell the truth, my parents are not satisfied with my decision. I know this work is noble, but dangerous. There are no fixed working hours and you have to work days and nights. But I want to help people in need. Rescue men save people during earthquakes, floods and other extreme situations; fight with fires, mud flows and snow-slips. I must have good knowledge of medicine and, of course, must be strong and healthy, that’s why I train my will power and body regularly. My favourite subjects at school are Biology, Chemistry and PT. Also, I’m interested in English. I think that good knoweledge of English will help me in my future profession because I can join international rescue teams and work abroad when it’s necessary.
I hope I’ll never regret my decision to follow this career.
The profession of a flight attendant
Hi! My name is Polina and I’d like to tell you about a profession of my dream. I have always dreamed to become a flight attendant. I found this profession interesting and romantic. I don’t know why I like it so much, maybe someone from my ancestors was connected with aviation. I want to adjust this profession in future. I’m sure that only this profession will give me a lot of memorable impressions.
I’m sure I don’t fancy doing anything else. Only this profession can bring me happiness, and I will say that I have found place in my life. It is perfect when you adore your job, isn’t it?
To my mind flight attendant post is a very responsible one. Of course, you have to know foreign languages, basically English. You have to be friendly, polite with passengers, contact with them. Flight attendant has to greet and to see off passengers. Flight attendant has to demonstrate emergency procedures, serve food, beverages, and maybe sell duty-free goods.
This profession gives you opportunity to travel and see new places, communicate with people of different nationalities. That is why I want to become a flight attendant.
The carrer of a sciientist
Choosing a career is not a simple matter. So I’m sure it is better to choose a future profession while at school. Everyone should think of his future career taking into consideration his interests and abilities. As for me I’ve always given preference to Economics, Maths, Physics and English. I had good and excellent marks in these subjects. I slaved at my books, took part in out-of-class activities, conferences. In summer I enjoyed spending my time at Youth Economics Camp.
So, I’ve made up mind to become a scientist because I like learning new things and I want a career which always presents new opportunities for intellectual growth and development. The thrill of discovery is unique. Maths is my favourite subject at school and I am really good at it. As far as my personal qualities are concerned, I can say that I’m creative and hard-working. I have good logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. So, I’m going to enter Moscow State Institute of Electronics and Mathematics. To enter this institute I must have good grades in my school final exams in Maths, Physics and Russian.
Also I’m absolutely sure that every person nowadays should know at least one foreign language quite well. That’s why I spend much time doing Enlish exercises, cramming new words, reading English books and magazines. I enjoy listening to the songs of my favourite groups and singers such as “Scorpions”, “Queen”, “Eagles”, “Status Quo”, “Gorky Park”, Madonna, Steve Wonder and others. I’ve learnt a lot about customs and traditions of English speaking countries. Sometimes I watch TV programs and video-films in English. Most of all I like films where Audrey Hepburn starred: “Roman Holiday”, “Sabrina”, “How to Steal a Million”. I will do my best to take part in student exchange programs and visit the USA some day.
I hope I’ll never regret my decision to follow this career.
The career of a lawyer
The choice of the future profession is a very delicate topic. A young boy or a girl has little knowledge about the world of the grown-ups. It will be great if you discuss your choice with your parents, friends and even psycologist, complete a special questionnaire and learn about the job you suit. Nowadays it can be done via Internet. Any profession demands that the person have traits that are important for a certain work.
As for me I’ve decided to become a lawyer, first of all, because my mum and dad work as baillifs. Secondly, I have always been fond of History and Social Science at school. I originally became interested in the law during my 9th form when I realized that my skills as a speaker and a leader would probably serve me well in a legal career. I think this profession is very important because the duty of a lawyer is not only to punish people for various crimes but they must do their best to prevent crimes and to fight against evil in our society.
They should help those people who committed an error (broke the law) to find the right road in their life. The lawyers protect the rights and legal interests of citizens, institutions and organizations. So, I want to help people and businessmen to solve their problems. I want to help everybody to know the rules that we all have to get along.
Also I’m absolutely sure that every person should know at least one foreign language quite well. That’s why my hobby is learning English. I do English exercises, spend a lot of time spelling new words. I like listening and singing songs of my favourite groups and singers. I’m proud of myself because I’ve learnt a lot about customs and traditions of English speaking countries. Sometimes I watch TV programs and video-films in English. I hope that good knowledge of English will help me to get a better job in the future.
